LD InfoZone: Transition to College and Work - This page provides explanatory policy briefs, transitional toolkits for parents and students, checklists, and up-to-date expert advice on the challenges to transition planning. 

Making the Leap to College: What Students with Learning Disabilities Need to Know - Featured Experts Vincent Varassi and Dr. Jennifer Zvi answer questions on preparing for college success, choosing the right college for a student with learning disabilities, and issues regarding transition planning, test scores, assistive technology and more in this November 28, 2006 LD Talk.

Planning for College Success for Students with Learning Disabilities - provides essential advice on preparing for college, picking a school, and planning for success as a student with LD.

Key Organization websites:

Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD) - is an international resource association committed to the full participation of persons with disabilities in postsecondary education.  Through research, training, publications, and events, it addresses current and emerging issues with respect to disabilitiy, education, and accessibility to achieve universal access.

Education Commission of the States: Postsecondary Issues - This organization partnered with the National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education (NCPPHE) and the National Center for Higher Education Management Systems (NCHEMS) to create the National Collaborative for Postsecondary Education Policy to investigate and recommend new strategies for improving postsecondary education.

Educational Testing Service (ETS) - The mission of this organization is to advance quality and equity in education for all people worldwide.  This site offers guidelines on standardized tests and provides resources for students with disabilities and higher education services.

National Center on Educational Outcomes (NCEO) - provides national leadership in the participation of students with disabilities in national and state assessments, standards-setting efforts, and graduation requirements.

National Longitudinal Transition Study-2 funded by the U.S. Department of Education, this study is documenting the experiences of a national sample of students who were 13 to 16 years of age in 2000 as they move from secondary school into adult roles.

National Secondary Transition Technical Assistance Center (NSTTAC) began operating January 1, 2006 to help states build capacity to support and improve transition planning, services, and outcomes for youth with disabilities. (The U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education Programs - OSEP)

Transition 101 for Parents, Students, & Professionals (National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities) a five-part series of resources that looks closely at and connects to a wide range of transition materials.
